An expert committee was looking into all aspects including the possibilities of switching over to new method of production, Kareem said while replying to a calling attention motion to the necessity of taking steps to resume the fuctioning of TTP.
The company ran into trouble after the price of sulphur shot up from Rs.5300 per tonne to Rs 29,500 per tonne, he said.
The company needed nearly 2,500 tonne of sulphur per year.
To tide over the crisis, government has recently sanctioned Rs 3 crore and another Rs 7 crore would be given, he added.
