Striking employees of TVS Logistics Services working at Hyundai Motor India’s plant here reported for duty on Thursday.

The employees, who were protesting since Monday raising several demands, called off their strike on Wednesday evening after talks.

“We are glad that the strike was called off during the conciliation talks held by the assistant commissioner labour,” an official spokesperson of TVS Logistics Services Ltd stated in a release.

R Sridhar, general secretary of Hyundai Motor India Employees Union, which backed the striking TVS Logistics workers, also confirmed the strike was called off.

He said TVS Logistics agreed to drop the charges against two employees, who were under suspension, and there would be no disciplinary action taken against the workers who indulged in strike. Suspension of another worker would have to go through the consideration of the assistant commissioner of labour, he said.

The demand for revising the salary would be discussed between the workers and the management of TVS Logistics, he said.

Meanwhile, the company said, “TVS Logistics is committed to continue its fair, principled and transparent stand on the issue and believes that this illegal and unjustified strike does not benefit any stakeholder.”
