Sun TV CEO retires

Kalanithi-Maran-owned Sun Television (Sun TV's) chief executive officer Tony D'Silva is set to step down from the group this month end.

D'Silva has been the face of Sun TV's direct-to-home (DTH) business and his last day in office will be July 30, said a senior company official.

Group chairman and managing director Maran and D'Silva were not available for comment. The official while confirming the development said, “he has retired from the group and he is planning to relocate to Mumbai where his family stays.”

D’Silva, joined the Sun group as COO of its DTH business Sun Direct in September 2007. In April 2010, D’Silva took over as group CEO. The group’s business includes television network, radio channels, print products, DTH business and airline business SpiceJet.
