Sun TV has posted 43 per cent growth in its net profit at Rs 47.96 crore for the quarter ended September 30 against Rs 33.61 crore in the corresponding quarter of the previous financial year, on the back of growth in ad revenues. |
The company revenues rose 18 per cent to Rs 94.47 crore from Rs 80.24 crore in the September quarter last year. Total income of the company grew 27 per cent to Rs 105.90 crore from Rs 83.21 crore in the previous corresponding quarter. Operating profit of the company for the quarter increased 26 per cent to Rs 82.94 crore from Rs 65.99 crore in the same period last year. |

For the half year ended September 30, the net profit of the company shot up 47 per cent to Rs 90.19 crore from Rs 61.40 crore in the corresponding period of 2005-06. For the same period, revenues stood at Rs 183.89 crore, up 22 per cent from Rs 150.93 crore in the same period last year. Total income of the company was Rs 204.94 crore, higher by 30 per cent over Rs 157.89 crore in the same period last year. |

According to company sources, the advertising revenue base has been growing and the company is hoping to maintain the same growth rate or higher than that in the next quarter. The company's ad revenue was registering higher growth rate than the industry growth rate in the state, sources said. |
