Diversified conglomerate Hinduja Group today said it has appointed Sunir Kheterpal as the chief executive officer of IN Entertainment, an entity which will consolidate the group's content business.
The Hinduja Group plans to invest Rs 250 crore in the content business over the next 2-3 years and Kheterpal will be responsible for spearheading its aggressive growth plans in the media and entertainment space, a press release said.
"The Indian entertainment industry is on the threshold of its next growth cycle after undergoing a consolidation phase over the last 18 months or so. Amidst these on-going dynamic changes in the business environment, I am very excited to be starting my next career move with the Hinduja Group, who has tremendous passion and aspiration to grow this business," Kheterpal said.
The Hinduja Group has been involved in film financing, production and distribution in the Indian entertainment industry.
The group owns InCable, one of India's largest cable distribution companies.
IN Entertainment will be engaged in content development, financing and production, both for films and TV, through Serendipity Films as well as co-productions with existing production houses.
Apart from acquiring distribution rights of foreign films for India, the group plans to roll out worldwide film distribution capabilities once the content pipeline is ready.
