Lights manufacturer Surya Roshni Limited (SRL) is planning to enhance its production capacity by this March.
Addressing a press conference here on Wednesday, JP Agarwal, chairman and managing director, said the production capacity of CFL would be increased from 2.5 million to 6 million a month while that of tubelights will be increased from the current 2.5 million to 5.5 million.
Both the Gwalior and Nainital units of the company would be upgraded for adding more capacities. The company has earmarked Rs 550 crore for the various expansion plans and this would be invested in a phased manner.
SRL has also drawn up a road map to increase its annual turnover to Rs 5,000 crore by 2011-12. The company registered a turnover of Rs 1,750 crore for the year ended March 2009.
Agarwal said the company would soon commission its Uttarakhand plant while a new plant would be set up in Gwalior for producing high mast lights for which it would invest Rs 150 crore.
The company today launched two energy efficient tubelights in the Kerala market.
