The hysteria surrounding the Indian Premier League (IPL) will come alive on Friday with the denizens of the city getting an opportunity to watch all their favourite IPL teams in action on mega screens.

This would be the first of its kind experience for the cricket buffs in the city to watch the IPL thrillers on LCD screens measuring 8 ft by 6 ft throughout the 45-day extravaganza from March 12-April 25.

The innovative way of getting hooked to IPL matches has been introduced by the city-based Suryansh Hotels and Resorts. The hotel has termed this facility as Super Beer League (SBL) and in addition to beer for the willing customers, the hotel would serve vegetarian and non-vegetarian food at nominal prices.

The sheer joy of catching the action on big screens apart, the stewards of the hotel would don the attire of the different IPL teams- be it Deccan Chargers, Delhi Daredevils or Mumbai Indians to create the ambience of the teams' presence.

Besides Bhubaneswar, this novel opportunity of watching the third edition of IPL will also be available at Suryansh's other property in the state at Jajpur Road.

Addressing reporters here, Ajay Pradhan, general manager, Suryansh Hotels and Resorts said, “As of now, we are the only hospitality player to offer this unique service. Looking ahead, we would like to have a similar arrangement for the upcoming ICC Cricket World Cup-2011.”

Dillip Chatterjee, manager (food and beverages), Suryansh Hotels said, “Each session will have a maximum seating capacity of 40 people and the ticket has been uniformly priced at Rs 200. “We have received many enquiries for SBL especially from IT majors like Infosys, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) and Mahindra Satyam. Suryansh Hotels expects a full house for the evening session and at least 50 per cent occupancy for the matinee session”, he added.
