Sutlej Textiles and Industries today said its net profit surged over three folds to Rs 22.68 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2010, over the same period previous fiscal.
The company had a net profit of Rs 6.03 crore in the same period last fiscal, Sutlej Textiles said in a statement.
The company's net sales rose to Rs 380.85 crore for the second quarter, compared to Rs 284.87 crore in the same period previous fiscal.
"This performance has been achieved due to several initiatives taken in the past few years in technical upgradation, product mix and improved efficiency all around," Sutlej Textiles and Industries Chairman C S Nopany said.
For the six months period ended September 30, the company posted a net profit of Rs 38.22 crore, compared to Rs 10.39 crore in the same period last fiscal.
Net sales of the company for the half-year period ended September 30, rose to Rs 729.52 crore, compared to Rs 532.86 crore in the same period previous fiscal.
Shares of Sutlej Textiles today closed at Rs 345.90 per piece on the Bombay Stock Exchange, up 2.07 per cent from its previous close.
