Suven gets new product patents from Australia, Japan

Patents correspond to a new chemical entity for treatment of neurodegenerative diseases

Hyderabad-based Suven Life Sciences today said it has received one product patent from Australia, two product patents from Japan and one product patent from Hong Kong.

The patents correspond to a new chemical entity (NCE) for treatment of disorders associated with neurodegenerative diseases. These patents are valid through 2030.

With these new patents, Suven has a total of 19 granted patents from Australia, 14 granted patents from Japan and 15 granted patents from Hong Kong.

The granted claims of the patents include the class of selective alpha-4-beta-2 compounds discovered by Suven and are being developed as therapeutic agents for major depressive disorders, according to the company.

Suven is a biopharmaceutical company involved in research, and contract manufacturing. It has eleven internally discovered therapeutic drug candidates currently in pre-clinical stage of development targeting conditions such as dementia.
