Suvidhaa Infoserve, which has 3,500 stores in India selling products and services at consumer doorstep, is planning to set up 1000 stores in Kolkata this financial year from 100 right now.

The company, whose kiosks are of 200-700 sq ft, plans to add services like selling multiplex tickets, electricity bill payment, etc.

According to Alok Jha, VP - sales and marketing, Suvidhaa, “We are talking to CESC to introduce electricity bill payment at our kiosks. We are also talking to schools and colleges to sell admission forms from our kiosks. The aim is to extend convenience to consumers so that they can use our kiosks to buy products and services of daily requirements instead of queing up at the respective company or organisation offices.”

“We usually charge the client for extending our services. For instance, we would ask the college for whom we will sell the admission forms to give us a margin too. However, if the college would not want that, we would pass on an additional amount to the consumer, which is never more than Rs 10 from what the college would price the admission forms at. The idea is to extend convenience to consumers for which, sometimes, consumers don’t mind paying a maximum of Rs 10 extra,” Jha said.

Among other services, Suvidhaa is planning to introduce ticket sales of some of the theme entertainment parks at its kiosks in Kolkata, like Aquatica and others. It has already started selling movie tickets for Adlabs.
