Suzlon bags 18 MW wind energy project from GSFC

Wind turbine manufacturer Suzlon Energy today said it has bagged a contract from Gujarat State Fertilisers & Chemicals (GSFC) for setting up a wind energy project in Gujarat.

The company has bagged a repeat order from GSFC for setting up, operating and maintaining an 18 MW project at Adodar in Porbandar district of Gujarat, Suzlon Energy said in a filing to Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).

"It gives us great pride to partner with leading state PSU's like GSFC, who are committed to the vision of powering development through sustainable energy and the mitigation of climate change," Suzlon Energy Ltd President-South Asia and Middle East Ashok D'Sa said.

The project, GSFC's third with Suzlon, is scheduled for commissioning by June 2010, it said.

The company, however, has not given any financial details of the project.

Shares of Suzlon Energy were trading at Rs 75.20 on BSE, up 2.45 per cent from its previous close.
