Suzlon bags Rs 650-cr order from Orient Green Power

India's largest wind turbine maker Suzlon Energy today said it had bagged a Rs 650 crore order from Chennai-based Orient Green Power Company to supply turbines for projects with a cumulative capacity of over 100 MW.

"Suzlon received an order from Orient Green Power Company for supplying wind turbines for over 100-MW wind projects," a company statement said.

Valued at Rs 650 crore, the order involves the supply of 48 Suzlon wind turbine units.

The first project in Gujarat will have a capacity of 50.4 MW and will be commissioned by May, 2012, while the second 50.4 MW project in Karnataka is scheduled for implementation by June, 2012.

"We are very pleased to partner with Orient Green Power Company and look forward to delivering a complete project and services package," Suzlon Group Chairman and Managing Director Tulsi R Tanti said.

Shares of Suzlon Energy were trading at Rs 50.10, up 0.15%, on the Bombay Stock Exchange in the afternoon today.
