Suzlon bottomline rises 334%

Suzlon Energy posted 334.38 per cent rise in net profit at Rs 161.94 crore for the third quarter ended December 2005 as compared with Rs 37.28 crore recorded in the same quarter in 2004-05.
 
Total income has increased to Rs 881.84 crore from Rs 290.45 crore in the year-ago period, the company informed the Bombay Stock Exchange.
 
The company reported 207 per cent growth in total revenues to Rs 871.04 crore for the quarter over the corresponding quarter of the previous year. Export revenues stood at Rs 59 crore, around 7 per cent of total sales during the quarter. EPS rose by 304 per cent to Rs 5.69.
 
The board of directors have declared an interim dividend of Rs 2.50 per share on equity shares of Rs 10 each for the current financial year, aggregating to Rs 71.88 crore excluding dividend tax, the company said.
 
A company press release said that its order book for the quarter stands at Rs 4232 crore. The release also said that its integrated Wind Turbine Generator manufacturing facility in China is likely to be operational by September 2006, and will add 600 MW capacity to its manufacturing base.
 
Suzlon's rotor blade manufacturing facility in Pipestone, US, is also likely to be completed by September 2006.
 
This 600 MW facility will be dedicated to meeting North American market requirement, the release said. The company is investing Rs 240 crore in the China plant and Rs 100 crore in the US plant, the press release said.
 
The company is also planning to introduce a new 600 KW turbine in the Indian market, aimed at small and medium scale industries. The products is currently being tested. Suzlon already has 320 KW and 1.2 MW turbines in the market.
