Wind turbine maker Suzlon Energy today announced the appointment of He Yaozu as CEO and Country Manager of its China operations, Suzlon Energy Tianjin.
Yaozu has been a senior adviser to China Machienary New Energy, and serves as a non-executive director of China Green Power. His appointment comes at a time when the company is giving a strong push to expand its China operations through initatives like establishing an R&D centre in Tianjin. It is also co-investing in wind farm projects and increasing its manufacturing investment.
Tulsi Tanti, CMD, Suzlon Group said that China is the largest market for wind power. With Yaozu's appointment and favourable public policy regime, he expects their business to take off. "Suzlon has now been fully operational in China now for five years. As a group, we have 3.4 per cent market share and have been executing contracts upto 1 gigawatt. We now want to take our business to the next level," said Tulsi Tanti, CMD, Suzlon Group.
"Suzlon's strategy has been very different from other entrants and they are now competitive with the domestic sector," said Yaozu.
