Suzlon net up 41.9% at Rs 360.16 crore

Suzlon Energy today reported a net profit of Rs 360.16 crore in the last quarter of the financial year, up 41.9 per cent from Rs 253.74 for the same period last year. Suzlon's total income during the quarter went up to Rs 1,548.70 crore, up from Rs 973.73 crore in 2004-05.
 
A company press release said Suzlon registered a growth of 98 per cent during the financial year 2005-06. It recorded a profit after tax of 760.52 crore, up 108 per cent from the previous year's Rs 365.12 crore.
 
The company's EPS grew 93.03 per cent to Rs 27.68. It also reported an order book of Rs 720.30 crore domestically and Rs 2583.22 crore internationally.
 
The company declared a dividend of Rs 2.50 per share of face value of Rs 10, aggregating to Rs 71.88 crore, excluding dividend tax.
 
During the year, the company emerged as number five among wind turbine gear manufacturers worldwide, capturing 6.1 per cent of the global market. It has 53 per cent market share in India with a cumulative installation of 1,634 mw.
 
The Suzlon stock today opened at Rs 1,335 from its Friday close of Rs 1,323. In intra-day trading, the stock rose to Rs 1,370 but closed at Rs 1,225.55, clocking a loss of Rs 95.70 or 7.23 per cent.
