Suzlon Energy today reported a 222% increase in net profit at Rs 193.60 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2006 as against Rs 60.14 crore in Q1FY06.According to a release issued to the BSE today, total income stood at Rs 946.70 crore for the quarter ended June 30, 2006 as against Rs 315.62 crore in Q1FY06."The company, as part of its long-term plans of having independent manufacturing units for various components of a wind turbine generator (WTG), has realigned its operations and has commenced sale of tubular towers through one of its wholly-owned subsidiaries. Accordingly, the sales of WTGs for the quarter ended June 30, 2006 do not include the sale of tubular tower aggregating approximately Rs 93.45 crore, which have been sold through the wholly-owned subsidiary. Accordingly, the sales realisations and gross margins during the quarter ended June 30, 2006 are to that extent not comparable with the results of prior periods," the release added.
