Suzlon Group-subsidiary REpower UK said it has signed a contract to supply turbines to a wind farm for Renerco’s Cotton Farm in Cambridgeshire, England.
This is the second contract REpower has signed with Renerco in the past four months, according to which eight REpower MM92 machines will be installed.
The MM92 turbines have a rated output of 2.05 megawatt (MW) each.
The Renerco Cotton Farm will have a total rated output of 16.4 Mw and will generate enough electricity to power the equivalent of nearly 10,000 homes per year. Construction at Cotton Farm is due to start in October 2012 and is expected to be completed by February 2013.
“2012 will be a busy year for Renerco in the UK. We are glad to have had the opportunity to strengthen our relationship with REpower and work with them to implement our challenging construction schedules,” Elke Hanel, head, project development, wind energy, Renerco, said.
Adding further, Hanel informed, “Our focus as a developer and owner of wind projects has always been on delivering highly productive and reliable wind farms; working with market leading turbine suppliers such as REpower helps us achieve those aims.”
