Suzlon to set up Rs 240 cr plant in China
Our Regional Bureau Mumbai Suzlon Energy which earlier had announced plans of investing Rs 240 crore in its proposed plant in China to manufacture 600 megawatt wind turbine generators, has acquired 2.5 lakh sq mt of land on the Tinajin hi-tech Industrial Park and commenced construction, according to a company release.

The plant will manufacture WTG and integrate major WTG components like rotor blades, generators, and control panels with an annual capacity of 600 mw for all components. |

The facility will also include a design centre as well as a learning and development centre. |

Around 70 per cent of the value-added components used in the WTGs will be local. The facility will also help in meeting targets set by local renewable energy laws. |

The company also plans to introduce several new products for the local markets by 2007, the release said. |

In 2005, Suzlon signed two contracts in China totalling 100 mw, both to be installed by the 2006 end "� one in Inner Mongolia and another in the Shandong province. |
