Osamu Suzuki, chairman of Suzuki Motor Company, called on finance minister P Chidambaram today."It was a courtesy call. We exchanged pleasantries," Jagdish Khattar, managing director of Maruti Udyog, who acompanied Suzuki said.Khattar added that Suzuki was in town to attend the AGM of Maruti tomorrow.The meeting between Suzuki and Chidambaram comes at a time when Suzuki is firming up plans to set up its second plant in Haryana for virtually doubling production besides planning a separate venture with Maruti to manufacture diesel engines and gear boxes with an investment of over Rs 3,200 crore.
