The Chhabria family-led management of Shaw Wallace and Company (SWC) has indicated that it is open to consider selling its stake in the company at the "right price" even as Vijay Mallya's open offer to acquire 25% stake in SWC is set to go ahead next month. The Chhabria family, which holds 55% stake in the company, has already invited bids from interested parties, but is holding its decision on the sell-off as only two bidders including the country's largest player, UB group of Mallya, have submitted bids."The SWC management, led by Komal Wazir Chhabria, is open to sale if the premium is the deemed intrinsic value of the 55% stake held by the Chhabria family," a source close to Komal Wazir said. The source also dismissed the perception that the Chhabria family was against selling its stake in SWC, which is the second largest player in liquor in the country behind the UB group.
