It earned a revenue of Rs 394 crore during the period, a company press release said today.The company has commenced construction of its 29 acre SEZ (Special Economic Zone) facility at Siruseri, Chennai.
In the phase 1, it would construct 650,000 sq ft of space consisting of 3 software development blocks each having a capacity of 1,700 seats, a food court with 1,000 seating capacity, a training block of 1,200 seating capacity, a welcome block, a recreation block and a utility block.
Most of the Phase 1 was scheduled for completion by October this year, it said.
The construction of its 40 acre SEZ facility at Talawade, Pune was also in progress. In Phase 1, the company would construct 2 software development blocks each having a capacity of 1300 seats. This is scheduled for opening in June next.
With this, Syntel would add 6,000 new seats in India. Investments in these two campuses alone would be around Rs 240 crore in 2008, the release said.
