TWTC has brought to India over 200 companies from Taiwan to showcase their products and services at the 8th edition of Electronics, Machinery & Moulds, Auto & Motorcycle parts and accessories’ exhibition in Bangalore. Through this expo, Taiwanese companies are offering $24 million worth of business opportunities, compared to $12.4 million worth of business generated during the 7th edition of EMMA Expo in Chennai last year.
“Taiwanese companies are not familiar with India and the business opportunities available here. We have brought some of the best companies from Taiwan to familiarise with Indian market, so that they understand and enter into business joint ventures in the years to come,” Walter Yeh, Executive Vice President, TWTC told Business Standard, here.

He said, already 97 companies from Taiwan are doing business in India that include Asus, HTC among others. A large number of companies from Taiwan are exploring possibilities to set up manufacturing in Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Mumbai, Chennai and Bangalore in the areas of electronics, medical equipment, shipping and education among others, he said, adding that TWTC aims to bring at least 500 companies from Taiwan to India over the next decade and enter into business relations with Indian companies.
Among the top players at the EMMA Expo are Taiwanese firms like Huu Lane Associate Inc, an automotive connector and terminal manufacturer, Tongtai Machine & Tool Co Ltd, a provider of equipment, instruments and tools, CoreTech System Co Ltd, provider of injection moulding series with simulation solutions, CUB Elecparts Inc, manufacturer of electrical and electronic auto parts, Litemax Electronics Inc, maker of LCD products with mass-production capability, Rhymebus Corp, frequency inverter manufacturer, Karma Medical Products Co Ltd, customised maker of wheelchairs, standing chairs, general purpose chairs among others.
Taiwan Excellence Pavilion has companies like Asus, Acer, BenQ, D-Link, Gigabyte, Silicon Power and Transcend among others.
“Taiwan and India are two hubs of learning. Both nations cherish education, which backs innovation that generates business, industry and wealth. The EMMA Expo also features the Taiwan Higher Education Exposition that includes nine leading educational institutions including Academia Sinica, the Taiwan Education Centre India, National Tsing Hua University, Kaohsiung Medical University among others,” said Yeh.
Sponsored by government and industry, TWTC assists Taiwan businesses and manufacturers to reinforce their international competitiveness and to cope with the challenges in foreign markets.
The EMMA Expo is running in conjunction with the India Manufacturing Show for the second time. Union minister for fertiliser and chemicals Ananth Kumar opened the expo, here today.
