Tamil Nadu fixes Rs 2,850 per tonne SAP for sugarcane

This is higher by Rs 550 per tonne as compared to FRP fixed by Centre

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa announced Rs 2,850 per tonne as State Advised Price (SAP) for sugarcane for 2015-16.

She announced Rs 550 as State Advised Price for sugarcane for the 2015-16 season.

The Rs 550 SAP per tonne fixed by Tamil Nadu government for the current cane season includes Rs 100 towards freight charges, said Jayalailthaa in a statement.

The Centre has fixed Rs 2,300 as Fair and Remunerative Price per tonne and with the SAP of Rs 550, farmers will be getting Rs 2,850 per tonne for cane.
