Tanishq, a division of Titan Industries Limited and one of India's leading jewellery brands, is exploring the possibility of setting up two more exclusive outlets in Orissa in Sambalpur and Berhampur.
Addressing media persons here, Dwaipayan Sen, regional business manager (east), Titan Industries Limited said, “At present, there are three Tanishq outlets in Orissa in Bhubaneswar, Cuttack and Rourkela. We are exploring the possibility of setting up two more outlets in Sambalpur and Berhampur.”
There are 15 Tanishq outlets in the eastern region of the country and plans are afoot to add 4-5 outlets in this fiscal. The eastern region of the country accounts for 15 per cent of the overall sales and Orissa contributes to around 20 per cent of the total sales in the eastern region.
Tanishq clocked a pan-India turnover of about Rs 2,400 crore in 2008-09 and it is aiming at a turnover of Rs 3240 crore, a growth of 35 per cent. In 2007-08, Tansihq had posted a turnover of Rs 1790 crore.
Meanwhile, Tanishq has tied up with the Belgium-based HRD Antwerp, known worldwide for its diamond business, for conducting a free Diamond Purity Check at the various Tanishq outlets across the country.
The Diamond Purity Campaign has already been organised in 5 cities of the country so far and we are planning to cover 10 cities by the end of this month, said Sen.
Tanishq announced the Diamond Purity Campaign here on Thursday in association with HRD Antwerp.

The diamond purity check will be conducted from June 12-15 at the Tanishq outlet in Bhubaneswar and on June 16-17 at the Tanishq outlet in Cuttack.
Customers can walk into the Tanishq outlets in the two cities and met the specialists who would assess the purity of the diamonds through highly specialised and trusted equipment and techniques.
The diamond purity check is being conducted by Tanishq to address the ambiguities prevailing in the diamond market regarding the purity of diamonds.
