Tanishq is expanding in Punjab. Claiming that the recent hike in gold prices has helped sales of branded gold, Tanishq has targeted a turnover of Rs 1,000 crore by opening showrooms in the United States and strengthening its base in the country.

"At present, we have 84 showrooms in the country and we are planning to increase the number in this financial year. Punjab's contribution in our turnover of Rs 732 last year was significant and we have done a market survey in the state to open more outlets," Regional Business Executive Mayank Kampani told Business Standard.

To achieve the target, the company has launched sales promotion schemes, Kampani said, while launching the gift offer on the purchase of jewellery in specific amounts from a Tanishq outlet on the occasion of the company's 10th foundation anniversary.

Giving details of the scheme, Kampani said Tanishq customers would get a 10-gm silver coin on the purchase of 10-15 gm of 22 karat gold jewellery and a 5-gm gold coin on the purchase of 15 gm of 22 karat jewellery.

Marketing and Merchandising Manager Aanchal Jain said: "Gold has become the most sought-after commodity today. Given the rise in gold prices, customers are looking for more value whenever they buy gold jewellery."

Our offers will appeal to customers who are looking for the best deals in quality, purity and value added offerings".
