Tata Advanced Material Ltd partners UK firm for pilotless target aircraft

Tata Adanced Material Limited (TAML), a provider of composite solutions and manufacturing catering to the global aerospace, space defence and industrial markets, on Wednesday signed a memorandum of understanding with Strongfield Technologies Limited (STL), the UK-based manufacturer of components and equipment for defence and space applications.

Under the terms of the MOU, TAML and Strongfield will jointly explore the potential business co-operation areas in various segments of the Pilotless Target Aircraft activities as well as other aerospace and defence activities.

Both the companies signed the MoU at Aero India 2013, the five-day international air show and exhibition, here.
Strongfield Technologies Limited intends to involve India’s defence industry in relation with the offset requirements, namely Pilotless
Target Aircraft. STL is willing to develop a strong relationship with TAML which will contribute to better answer its worldwide requirements, Paul Rogers, Director of outsourcing, STL said,

“STL is happy to collaborate with TAML for indigenous composite production of components and structures for its defence projects.
STL evaluated TAML facilities in 2012, and was happy to see the high standards of quality and capability showcased,” he said after signing the MoU.

Both the companies wish to establish a long–term profitable and stable relationship in view of better meeting their customers’ needs in, but not limited to India and contributing to offset programmes.

TAML is the first company in India to be certified for NADCAP in Composite Manufacturing.
