Tata Chemicals today said it expects to sell one million units of the low-cost water purifier Swach in the next one year.

After launching the sub-Rs 1,000 water purifier in Maharashtra recently, the company will be rolling out the product in other parts of the country, with an aim to generate a revenue of Rs 100 crore with the sale of one million units.

"Its too early to comment about the sale. We had just launched it...However, we expect to sell around one million units in the next one year," Tata Chemicals Chief Operating Officer (Chemicals) Arup Basu told PTI on the sidelines of an AIMA event here.

He said as of now the company has been focusing on marketing 'Swach' in Pune and then whole of Maharashtra.

"Gradually it would be launched across the country in phased manner," he added.

Speaking about the marketing strategy, he said, the company will use the existing sales and distribution network to promote the product.

"We have a very extensive sales and distribution network for our products like Tata Salt. We intend to use the same," he said.

Late last year, the company had launched Swach in two variants priced at Rs 749 and Rs 999.
