Mukul Sharma, Executive Head of Neotel's consumer business unit, announced in Johannesburg that the NeoConnect packages were built around a handset that plugged into a computer and served as a telephone as well as a wireless internet access point.
He said although the handset could be used purely as a cordless phone for anyone who did not want internet access, the monthly fee would not be economical for only making voice calls.
