Auto major Tata Motors today said its global sales increased by 53 per cent in April to 77,732 units, on robust demand from both commercial and passenger vehicles.
Sales of luxury brands from Jaguar Land Rover were at 17,909 units in April, up 61 per cent from the same period last year, the company said in a statement.
While sales of luxury sedans of the Jaguar brand remained flat last month at 3,559 units, Land Rover sales were up by 89 per cent at 14,350 units, it added.
It said total passenger vehicles sales stood at 43,262 units in April 2010, growth of 66 per cent from the corresponding month last year.
Commercial vehicles sales were also up 40 per cent to 34,470 units from the same month last year, it added.
Tata Motors’ global sales comprise Tata, Tata Daewoo, the Hispano Carrocera range of commercial vehicles, Tata passenger vehicles along with the distributed brands in India and Jaguar Land Rover.
