Decrease in fuel prices in the Mumbai licence area pulled down Tata Power's revenues in Q1 FY10 to Rs 2,015.62 crore as against Rs 2,026.13 crore.
The Tata group company's PAT increased 98 per cent to Rs 377.08 crore in Q1FY10 as against Rs 190.55 crore in the year-ago period, a press release issued here said.
After statutory appropriations, the company's PAT was up 144 per cent at Rs 396.97 crore, the release said.
The company's generation was up 8 per cent at 4,260 MUs as compared to 3,935 MUs last year while sales volume rose by 2 per cent at 4,180 MUs as against 4,115 MUs in the corresponding period last year, the release said.
While its Trombay Thermal Power Station generated 2,778 MUs of power as compared to 2,669 MUs in the previous year, the Jojobera Thermal Power Station generated 803 MUs during the quarter as compared to 784 MUs.
The Belgaum Independent Power Plant generated 107 MUs during the year as compared to 92 MUs in the previous year.
Tata Power added 1,615 customers taking its total customer base to 27,620, the release said.
