Tata Power’s coal-fired, 4,000 Mw, ultra mega power project (UMPP) at Mundra in Gujarat’s Kachchh district is likely to be commissioned before schedule.
The project was slated to be operational by September 2011. However, considering the pace of project development, it may commission its first unit, of 800 Mw, six to 12 months ahead of schedule.
“Hopefully, we will be able to do so,” Prasad Menon, managing director, Tata Power Company Ltd, said on the sidelines of the third edition of India Energy Conclave 2009 here today.
Talking about their overseas plans, Menon said
Tata Power has recently invested in an Australian company operating in geothermal space.
