Tata slams Rediffusion claim on Nano account

Tata Motors today said Vaishnavi Corporate Communications is the public relations agency of the company, its businesses and brands, a day after Rediffusion- Y&R claimed to have bagged the 'Nano' communication campaign.

Questioning the claim, the country's top auto maker said: "Vaishnavi Corporate Communications Pvt Ltd is the public relations agency of Tata Motors, its businesses and its brands including the Tata Nano."

Rediffusion-Y&R's Group CEO Mahesh Chauhan did not take queries despite repeated attempts for over five hours, saying he was "busy in a meeting."

Yesterday, Rediffusion-Y&R had claimed that it "is the agency for Tata Nano," and called it the most coveted account of the year.
 
"The communication campaign for the prestigious Tata Nano account will be handled and launched nationwide by Rediffusion-Y&R," a statement from the agency had said.
 
It also claimed to have handled the launch and introductory communication of the Rs one-lakh family car in January 2008 and the commercial vehicles business of Tata from Mumbai for 25 years.
