Tata Steel employees to be given PM's Shram Awards

Leading steel maker Tata Steel today said that government will award eight of its employees the Prime Minister's Shram Awards for their distinguished performance and devotion to duty.     

"The government of India will award them with a citation and a cash prize of Rs one lakh for Shram Bhushan, Rs 60,000 for Shram Vir and Rs 40,000 for Shram Shree," a Tata Steel statement stated here today.     

In addition to this, Tata Steel will felicitate the award winners with Rs 80,000 each in the next Annual Suggestion Awards Function, it added.     

Out of the 32 Prime Minister's Shram Awards, 16 would be given to employees of the public sector companies and the rest to private sector, it said.     

Prime Minister's Shram Awards recognise outstanding contributions made by servicemen for maintaining distinguished record of performance and devotion to duty of a high order.
