Tata Steel has posted a 12% increase in consolidated net profit at Rs 4177.27 crore for the year ended March 31, 2007 when compared with Rs 3734.62 crore for the year ended March 31, 2006.According to an official release issued by the company to the BSE today, total income for FY07 has increased to Rs 25651.38 crore from Rs 20568.88 crore for FY06.For the quarter ended March 31, 2007, the company has posted a 23% increase in consolidated net profit at Rs 964.37 crore when compared with Rs 813.22 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2006. Total income has increased to Rs 7559.40 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2007, from Rs 5374.92 crore for the quarter ended March 31, 2006, the release said.The board of directors of the company at its meeting held today, inter alia, has recommended a dividend of 130% for FY07 and a special dividend of 25% on the occasion of the Centenary Year of the company, subject to the approval of the shareholders at the Annual General Meeting, the release added.
