Tata Steel today reported a 3% increase in consolidated net profit at Rs 1,019.18 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2006 when compared with Rs 985.32 crore in Q1FY06.According to a release issued by the company to the BSE today, total income increased to Rs 5,843.28 crore from Rs 4,916.45 crore in Q1FY06.The company, on a stand-alone basis, posted a net profit of Rs 953.41 crore in Q1FY07 when compared with Rs 924.11 crore in Q1FY06. Total income increased to Rs 3,993.78 crore from Rs 3,587.39 crore in Q1FY06.
