Tata Iron and Steel Company (Tata Steel) today reported a 27% increase in consolidated net profit a Rs 985.32 crore for the first quarter ended June 30, 2005 as against Rs 774.85 crore in Q1FY05.According to a release issued by the company to the BSE today, total income increased to Rs 4,790.49 crore in Q1FY06 from Rs 3,396.01 crore in Q1FY05. The company, on a stand-alone basis, has posted a net profit of Rs 924.11 crore in Q1FY06 as against Rs 745.49 crore in Q1FY05. Total income increased to Rs 3,494.85 crore from Rs 3,192.10 crore in Q1FY05.
