Tata Steel has posted a 44 per cent drop in its consolidated net profit for December quarter at Rs 732.21 crore as compared to Rs 1,311.76 crore in the corresponding quarter last year.
The company's total income went up 4 per cent in December quarter at Rs 33,223 crore as compared to Rs 32,074.34 crore for the corresponding quarter last financial year.
The company's stock was trading at Rs 172.15, nearly 5.5 per cent higher than previous close.
