Tata Steel today reported its highest-ever quarterly crude steel production from India at 17.94 lakh tonnes (LT) in the first three months of the current fiscal.
While the previous best was in the final quarter of last fiscal at 17.78 LT; during the April-June period of the last fiscal, it had produced 16.27 LT crude steel, the home-grown steel major said in a statement. The quarter-on-quarter growth was 10%.
Sales of the company during the past three months also rose by 14% to 15.93 LT compared to 13.99 LT in the same period last year.
Long products sale was higher by 11% during the quarter over the April-June quarter last fiscal, it said, adding that sale of flat products grew by 12%.
The scrip of the company today closed at Rs 597.2 a share at the Bombay Stock Exchange, up 0.06% over the previous day's close.
