Tata Teleservices has proposed to bring down the rentals for limited mobility services to Rs 375 per month, with free local calls between 10 pm and 8 am. It has also proposed to introduce free caller-line identification and call-forwarding facility for wireless in local loop (WLL) services.
In its proposal submitted to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) on July 12, Tata Teleservices has proposed two tariff plans for its WLL services. The move comes after Trai allowed basic operators offering limited mobility services to bring down monthly rentals to Rs 200, along with flexibility in tariffs.
According to the plan, WLL consumers will also get free call-forward and caller-line identification. Initially, customers wanting STD/ISD connections will have to pay Rs 1,000 and Rs 1,050 as installation charges. The new tariff will be applicable from August 1, subject to Trai's approval.
