Even as Trinamool Congress leader Mamata Banerjee and West Bengal government announced a truce to end agitations against Tata Motor's Nano factory complex, the company said that it will not resume construction activities at the Nano plant without concrete assurances.

In a statement issued today, Tata Motors Ltd said it is distressed at the limited clarity on the outcome of the discussions with the government of West Bengal and the representatives of the agitators in Singur.

"We will review our stated position only if we are satisfied that the viability of the project is not being impinged, the integral nature of the mother plant and our ancillary units are being maintainted and all stakeholders are committed to develop a long term congenial environment for smooth operations of the plant in Singur", the statement said.

The company said it will continue the suspension of construction and commissioning work at the Nano plant.
