Tcs Aims At 17% Growth

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) is targeting a growth of 17 per cent during the current fiscal, after becoming the Indian first software company to cross the $1 billion revenue mark in 2002-03.

Responding to a specific question on revenue projections TCS chief executive officer S Ramodorai said at news conference today that "The industry body, the National Association of Software and Services Companies has projected a 17 per cent growth and we accept that."

The company posted a revenue of Rs 5,012 crore in 2002-03 surpassing the 18 per cent growth recorded during the fiscal by the Indian information technology industry as a whole. Exports accounted for the chunk of the revenue at Rs 4,545.26 crore.

Domestic sales stood at Rs 369.07 crore compared with Rs 247.89 crore during the previous fiscal. Other income was at Rs 98.05 crore as against Rs 57.90 crore in the previous year.

The revenues are on a stand alone basis and do include the sales of CMC Ltd, which was acquired following its disinvestment two years ago.
