Global IT major Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has provided its suite for tax revenue and licensing management to City of Tucson, Arizona.
The suite replaces and modernises the City of Tucson’s old mainframe system of disparate and disconnected legacy applications that required manual and redundant work processes, TCS said in a release today.
The new system enables the City of Tucson to streamline its business process of collecting taxes, provide taxpayer friendly services via the web and integrate various departments to enable a paperless office.
Business owners in Tucson are now able to file tax returns and make payments through Tucson Tax and License Online. Filed tax returns and payments are transmitted overnight into the system and made available to city officials, enabling them to answer and resolve customer questions immediately.
“Our proven methodology and expertise in implementing Tax and Revenue systems and managing large engagements of this nature were instrumental in the success of this initiative with the City of Tucson,” Tanmoy Chakrabarty, vice-president and head, TCS Global Government Industry Solutions Unit said.
