India's largest software exporter, Tata consultancy Services (TCS), today reported a 29.21 per cent rise in its consolidated net profit at Rs 1,642.21 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2009.
The company had a net profit of Rs 1,270.99 crore in the September quarter of FY09, TCS said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE).
Total income grew by 9.46 per cent rose to Rs 7,426.60 crore in the second quarter from Rs 6,784.45 crore in the corresponding period a year-ago.
The company declared an interim dividend of Rs 2 per equity share of Re 1 each (200 per cent dividend).
Shares of TCS settled at Rs 599, up 2.84 per cent from the previous close on the BSE.
