Tata Consultancy Services, after emerging as the largest recruiter among infotech companies from Indian campuses last year, has now set its sights on foreign universities to meet the rising demand of personnel for its expanding global operations.
After having blazed through the top rung management and engineering institutions in India in search of talent, TCS has now started scouting in universities in the UK and Australia as well as in Hungary and Uruguay, where it has recently set up global development centres.
TCS intends to expand its international operations through these centres to service clients in the region, and expects to man these with 60-70 per cent local staff, rather than sending its Indian employees overseas.
