“HR function has become so critical that it can very much impact the topline and bottom line of a company. Besides employee satisfaction, it can make a difference in cost-effective talent hiring, maximise the utilisation and significantly increase the retention levels through employee aspiration fulfilment and employee engagement,” he said.
Rajanna, who is also vice president and regional head, Tata Consultancy Services, Hyderabad, was delivering his address at ITsAP’s annual summit 2013 here here on Monday. The theme of the event was ‘Technology as a catalyst for HR performance excellence’.

Stating that the Indian IT industry employed three million professional directly and that the annual average attrition was at 15 per cent, he said close to 450,000 professional were changing their jobs every year.
“IT companies spend about three per cent (or $3 billion of the close to $108-billion IT industry) of their annual revenues on learning and development per year, which is big money,” he said, adding technology could be a very good tool for HR to deliver important objectives of every enterprise while handling the scale.
