“Micromax has already agreed to set up their unit in our state. Besides, we are in talks with Samsung, Karbonn and Lava to come and set up their manufacturing units in our state,” said KT Rama Rao, state information technology and panchayati raj minister.

The minister visited South Korea and Taiwan recently and asked the electronic and telecommunication manufacturer to consider Telangana as their manufacturing destination in India. He, however, refused to comment about the investment commitment he got from his overseas visits.
“I cannot comment about the investment size right now, but I am meeting a lot of people from several industries to consider Hyderabad as their next stop for investment, “ Rao said after inaugurating ‘Happening Hyderabad’, a roadshow of Telangana government here.
Apart from mobile manufacturing, the year-old government is trying to attract banking ,finance and insurance companies to set up their units.
In the event, the IT minister announced the state is developing second phase of financial district, which would be an ideal location in the country for financial corporations to set up their Disaster Recovery System Centres. And as the head office of Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (IRDA) is in Hyderabad, insurance companies would find it conducive to start, scale up and thrive.
