Aided by a pick-up in the economy and increased investments by telecom companies, the sale of personal computers (PCs) registered an 18 per cent growth during the first half of the current fiscal over the same period last fiscal with sales crossing 9.5 lakh units. This represents a sequential growth of 10 per cent.
According to a survey by the Manufacturers Association of Information Technology (Mait) and Indian Market research Bureau (IMRB), the market is poised for better growth.
Mait has also revised its earlier growth projections from 15 per cent to 20 per cent during the fiscal and said that PC sales is expected to cross two million units for the first time.
