Textron India appoints Inderjit Sial as new president & MD

Sial succeeds N R Mohanty who is retiring after six years of service with the company

Textron Inc., an American business conglomerate with interests in businesses such as aerospace, defence, industrial and finance, has appointed Inderjit Sial as the new president and MD of Textron India.

He succeeds N R Mohanty who is retiring after six years of service with the company. Mohanty joined Textron in January 2007 after his retirement from defence PSU Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) as the chairman and managing director.

Sial brings with him 23 years of diverse industrial experience. Prior to joining Textron India, he was working as the MD of SAAB India Technologies, a position he held since 2010. At SAAB, he was responsible for government relations as well as business development for a broad range of product lines covering defence and civil aerospace.

Prior to SAAB, Sial held a number of positions in the aerospace and defence trade arena, including country head of Sukab AB, from 1989 to 1993, as well managing his own entrepreneurial venture , Rollscon, from 1995 to 2008.

With revenues of over $11.3 billion, Textron owns aerospace, defence and industrial brands such as Bell Helicopter, Cessna Aircraft, Textron Systems, Kautex and Jacobsen.
