Energy and environment engineering company Thermax has planned a major international thrust to expand its bases in the South East Asia and Middle East markets and to create an identity of its own in Europe and the United States. The company will work with original equipment manufacturers(OEMs) who will sell Thermax products under their brandnames and will take the acquisition route in some markets, Meher Pudumjee, chairperson of Thermax, said at the company's AGM in Pune today. "The company is present in the Middle East and South East Asia markets with a very small share there and will now look at a greater role with added investments in market development, project resources and senior level manpower," Pudumjee said.The company is considering acquiring businesses in Europe and the US to leapfrog global expansion. It will also set up a plant in Vadodara in Gujarat with a capex of Rs 100 crore, Pudumjee said.The company has bagged a refinery company's order worth Rs 400 crore to supply heat waste recovery boiler project, Pudumjee added.
