Thomson Reuters buys online content provider Indlaw Comm

Leading financial information provider Thomson Reuters has acquired a city-based online content provider Indlaw Communications for an undisclosed amount.

The online content provider, which runs its flagship internet site indlaw.Com, was acquired by Thomson Reuters on July 1, 2009, Indlaw Communications said in a statement today.

"Thomson Reuters will focus on providing uninterrupted service to Indlaw clients and would also offer them access to a whole suite of comprehensive legal information solutions from its international and common legal database," the statement said.

Indlaw Communications, which employs about 38 people, offers its online content services in the areas of legal information, tax and regulatory markets.

The company, established in 2000, was founded by a Delhi-based legal consultant Joseph Pookkatt and its flagship site was launched in 2002.

Thomson Reuters is a leading information provider in various areas like finance, law, tax and accounting, science and healthcare, and media markets.

The shares of Thomson Reuters are listed on four exchanges, namely, the New York Stock Exchange, the Toronto Stock Exchange, the London Stock Exchange and the Nasdaq.
